CHAMPION MILLION DOLLARS TOPS THE FED

BREAKS ALL RECORDS FOR LAGAN VALLEY PARTNERSHIP

The Ulster Federation were in Fermoy for their fifth race of the old bird season . Due to a bad weekend forecast the birds were racemarked 24 hours earliar . The birds were liberated on Friday 17/05/13 at 08.45 am into a light north east wind . At the time of going to press the likely winners of 1st Open Ulster Federation Fermoy is the top racing lofts of Robert & Ashley Gore – Tonagh Lofts – R & A Gore – Lagan Valley PRC. This , without any doubt is , to date , the most consistent racing loft within the Ulster Fed with a 100 % record . Why??? Answer 5 races – 5 WINS . Having broke all club records , last week , the father & son partnership confirmed their status this week for apart from setting another club record they put the icing on the cake by topping the Ulster Fed for good measure Since the club was established in 1959 no loft has won five races on the trot and Ashley & Robert are over the moon with the lofts start to the 2013 season – UNDEFEATED – What a title – Now a bit of info on the winner and the previous weeks winners . This weeks Ulster Fed winner has been aptly named Champion Million Dollars and boy has he a big part to play in the lofts season to date having won two and sired one – Yes that’s three out of the five wins that he’s responsible for – A Super Racer/Producer - The winning pigeon called Champion Million Dollars is a two old cock and the title suits him as he has looked superb since the minute he left the nest . He was bred by good friends , T&K Mawhinney- Donaghcloney - from the best of their Soontjens. Who said Timmy & Keira were only interested in showing – Nonsence – This proves they are breeders & racers of quality stock – Now breeding Fed Winners - This was the cocks 2nd win of the season having topped the club from the opening race of the season . Now a bit of info on the rest of the seasons winners : 2nd Kildare – A son of Champion Million Dollars , 1st Thurles – “ Big Roy” – A previous p/winner he was bred by Roy Kennedy – Cherryfield Lofts – Ron Williamson/Dark Destroyer Bloodlines , 2nd Thurles – VanLeemputten Cock bred by No Mercy Lofts – Peter Martin . On finishing all I can do is congratulate Robert & Ashley on their seasons top performances to date. Who knows what befalls them in this weekends Old Bird Inland Premiar event from Skibbereen ??? Best Of Luck to all concerned for the coming weekends event .

HOLLYWOOD SPARTACUS TOPS NATIONAL FOR LURGAN DUO

HIGGINSON & JOHNSTON - NATIONAL WINNERS
The N.I.P.A. were in Rosscarberry for the fifth old bird race of the season and their annual old bird inland national . Due to a bad weekend forecast the birds were racemarked 24 hours earliar . The birds were liberated on Friday 17/05/13 at 09.15 am into a light north east wind. 672 members sent 6,212 birds competing for £19,355 pools & p/money . Topping the Open were the Lurgan Amateur partnership of Higginson & Johnston – Congratulations guys on your recent top success .
They topped the national timing a three year old blue w/f cock now named " Hollywood Spartacus by the partners . The Sire is one of the top sons from my foundation Hofkens pair, Witneus 128 and Blue Pearl., which are responsible for 10 generations of winners all over the UK and Ireland. The Dam is a Verheye, a gift bird to me from my good friend, Paul Hope, bred from his old lines.Spartacus was sent to the National racing on widowhood, already a winner having many other prizes, and our first bird home from Clonmel the previous week.

Making up the frame winning 1st Section G , 3rd Open is another past national winning loft - Donnelly Bros - Newry City - Topping the section winning 1st Club Newry City , 1st Sect G 61/609 & 3rd Open is the top racing partnership of Donnelly Bros . Their latest winner was a previous winner last year of 1st Open Tullamore and a half sister won 1st North Section St Malo Friendship National 2010 season. It was a great racing weekend for the brothers for in the Roscrea comeback race they had a fantastic result of 1st 2nd & 3rd Open beating 12,343 birds . While out and about at the weekend I paid a short visit to Willie to see how things were coming along. I must say it is a fanciers dream to view the breeding stock alone. All pairs are housed in individual breeding pens to guarantee parentage and were all in tip top shape and getting the best that is available . The stock on view is awesome and the lofts are full of bloodlines that win at any distance but excel in the premiar events. Promised to call back in the next few weeks to get more info and latest photos. Watch press for details

A new shop has opened serving all the fancy within the greater Belfast area. Situated in West Belfast at Parkview Stores here you can avail of most pigeon products, pigeon corn etc and as they say if we havent it we’ll get it !!.
